Securing food supply chains across Europe

What is
ACT4FOOD

ACT4FOOD is a European initiative developing and validating practical cybersecurity solutions for real-world food operations.

The project combines AI-supported monitoring and threat detection, secure information sharing, and an updated approach to food defence that covers both physical and digital risks.

Solutions are validated in three settings: aquaculture, dairy manufacturing, and retail.

Mission statement

Our mission is to strengthen the cybersecurity resilience of Europe’s food supply chain from farm to fork.

We empower producers, manufacturers, retailers, and logistics providers with practical, secure-by-design solutions to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber threats before they disrupt operations or compromise safety.

By combining AI-driven threat detection, real-time monitoring, secure information sharing, and tailored training, ACT4FOOD transforms cybersecurity from a reactive obligation into a strategic decision for all players in the food industry.

The project safeguards food safety and public trust, minimizes business disruption and financial losses, supports compliance with EU regulations such as NIS2, and actively contributes to a more secure, resilient, and sustainable European food ecosystem.
